Orthodontics for Children and Adults
We offer a variety of the most advanced options in orthodontics today for both children and adults.
Orthodontics for Children
Dr. Kwong can see children as soon as their first adult tooth appears, usually around age 7. She checks for dental and skeletal discrepancies, such as crossbites and crowding. Early treatment can guide the growth of the jaw and increase space available for future teeth. Correction of habits such as thumb-sucking and abnormal swallowing can avoid speech problems. Early treatment may alleviate the need for excessive extraction of teeth and can also shorten the length of future orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontics for Adults
Many people did not get braces when they were young. Presently as much as 1/4 of orthodontic treatment being done in this country is for adult patients. Adults may have special considerations relating to orthodontic treatment, and some may require jaw surgery or periodontal treatment in addition to braces or Invisalign. We welcome you to visit and see the newest innovations available for adult care.
